Today’s practice was straightforward but deliberate. I spent forty-five minutes running a MoonRituals tracking exercise, cross-referencing lunar phases with my personal journal entries. As a data analyst, I can’t help but hunt for patterns. Five years sober taught me that discipline isn’t about feeling inspired—it’s about showing up even when you don’t want to. Living in Chattanooga, the seasonal shifts make consistency tricky, but I’ve built a system that actually holds.

I want to be blunt: spirituality shouldn’t be an emotional band-aid. I’ve seen too much “love and light” toxicity in these circles—fluffy affirmations that ignore how human psychology actually works. Real metaphysics requires facing your shadow. That’s why I anchor my practice in cognitive behavioral principles, specifically implementation intentions: “If [trigger], then I will [response].” It’s how you rewire habit loops without relying on motivation.

Tarot fits this framework naturally. I don’t pull cards for fortune-telling; I use them as psychological mirrors. Today, The Chariot came up repeatedly. In Jungian terms, it represents the integration of opposing forces—discipline vs. impulse. Five years clean, I learned that sobriety isn’t just about abstaining; it’s about mastering that internal conflict. The Hermit also surfaced, which aligns with shadow work: stepping back to examine what you’re avoiding.

If you’re looking for a quick fix, this isn’t it. Metaphysics isn’t magic; it’s structured self-inquiry backed by behavioral science. You don’t get results by wishing. You get them by tracking, analyzing, and executing. Show up. Do the work. The patterns will reveal themselves if you stop romanticizing the process and start treating it like a system. That’s why this works.

Check-in complete. Post your tracking method and stop waiting for inspiration to strike.
