I’ve been reading these forums for years. Usually I just lurk, but the discussion around spiritual exhaustion really resonated with me. Living in Toronto, balancing voiceover sessions with teaching yoga, I’ve noticed a specific pattern in these digital spaces.

The problem isn’t spirituality itself—it’s the packaging. When yoga gets turned into just another gig-economy hustle, the actual practice drains of meaning. We’re selling “inner peace” as a consumable product, but maintaining that online persona demands intense emotional labor. That’s where the burnout begins.

Psychologically, this is textbook cognitive dissonance. You’re supposed to project authenticity while carefully curating a “wise teacher” image for the feed. The mental load of holding those two opposing ideas eventually fractures. In Tarot, this sudden collapse of the facade mirrors The Tower. It’s that jarring moment when you realize the digital community isn’t nourishing you—it’s consuming you.

The healthy counterbalance is The Hermit. Stepping back from the screen, turning inward, and exploring practices that go beyond just the physical asana. I’m currently in that Hermit phase myself, trying to reconnect with the actual roots of the work rather than the commercialized version.

For those navigating online spiritual spaces, what are your early warning signs? Constant fatigue, creeping cynicism, or just an overwhelming urge to log off? I’d love to hear how you’ve handled the transition from digital noise to quiet reflection.
