At 33, I’ve always kept to myself. Living in Oslo, my days are spent in the quiet of the library, and my nights are dedicated to carving oak runestones and studying the historical roots of the Elder Futhark. But paganism isn’t meant to be practiced in total isolation. That’s when I decided to step into the digital space to find a coven.

Building an online pagan community felt like drawing The Star—a card that speaks of quiet guidance, hope, and reaching across distances. At first, it was awkward. I’d post about rune interpretations or astrological transits, waiting for a response. But slowly, threads turned into conversations, and conversations turned into a real coven.

Psychologically, this aligns with Social Identity Theory. We don’t just join a group for practical reasons; we join to satisfy a fundamental human need for belonging. When I started sharing my oak carvings and Futhark studies, I wasn’t just posting content—I was signaling who I am. The replies that came back weren’t just likes; they were mirrors reflecting a shared identity.

Tarot would call this The Lovers energy: connection forged through mutual interest and intentional choice. Online, the barrier to entry is low, but trust has to be earned. I learned to filter out the noise and focus on quality dialogue. We started doing virtual rituals, moon circles, and rune readings together. The screen became our shared altar.

If you’re searching for a pagan community, don’t expect instant magic. Start by sharing what you genuinely love—whether it’s astrology, divination, or Norse myth. Post consistently, engage thoughtfully, and let the community grow organically. The digital grove is waiting.
