Look, at 47, I'm supposed to have my life together. Instead, I'm a grad student living off instant ramen and questionable decisions. I used to go to church every Sunday, singing hymns and pretending I believed all the stuff. Now? I'm in a total deconstruction phase. It's like peeling an onion, but the onion is crying and I'm laughing at myself.

I live in Tucson, AZ, so the desert landscape is my therapist. The sand dunes and cacti are my Jungian archetypes. The cactus is the "Shadow" โ€” prickly, defensive, but essential for survival. The dunes are the "Self" โ€” shifting, formless, always changing. It's funny how the desert teaches you to let go.

I've been using tarot cards to make sense of this mess. The "Tower" card is my favorite. It represents sudden change, upheaval, and destruction. It's like the moment you realize your old beliefs are crumbling. I draw the "Tower" and laugh. It's like the universe is saying, "Hey, Mike, your Sunday school days are over. Time for the sand dunes."

I'm also into astrology, specifically the "LoveAndAstrology" angle. The stars are my map, but I'm reading them backwards. I'm using the "Lovers" card to represent choice, not romance. It's funny how the cards teach you to choose yourself, not a partner.

If you're going through a spiritual detour, I get it. It's weird, it's messy, and it's totally normal. The desert is my church, the tarot is my Bible, and the stars are my guide. But honestly, I'm just laughing at myself. It's better than crying.
