I hung up my postal uniform, packed up my life, and moved to Birmingham, AL. Suddenly, I’m deep in the spiritual healing scene—trading route maps for astrology charts and tarot spreads. But here’s the thing I’ve noticed: we keep treating healing like a solo sport. You do your breathwork, meditate on your crystals, and tell yourself it’s all about “inner peace.” Meanwhile, the world’s burning, and we just put a scented candle on top of the wreckage. Classic spiritual bypassing.

Psychologically, this is textbook avoidance. Carl Jung called it ignoring the Shadow—but in our communities, the Shadow isn’t just personal trauma. It’s systemic inequality, climate collapse, and the uncomfortable truth that personal growth means nothing if it doesn’t translate to collective action. We hide behind “energy work” to dodge real-world responsibility. It’s comforting, sure. But it’s also cowardly.

Tarot actually gets this right when you stop treating it like a fortune-telling parlor game. Take the Justice card. It’s not about karmic balance for one person; it’s about fairness, accountability, and structural equity. Pair that with The Tower—sudden disruption, systems falling apart—and you see the pattern. Healing isn’t a private retreat. It’s a public duty.

I’m into LoveAndAstrology and CosmicCurrents not to escape reality, but to understand how planetary alignments and human behavior intersect. When Mercury retrograde hits, we blame failed texts and missed flights. But the real question is: how do these cycles affect marginalized communities who don’t have the luxury of “resetting” their lives every few months?

If you’re in a spiritual healing circle and nobody’s talking about rent control, healthcare access, or environmental justice, you’re not healing. You’re just daydreaming. Let’s stop treating spirituality as a luxury good and start using it as a tool for actual change. What’s your take? Are your circles focused on collective responsibility, or are you stuck in the bypassing loop?
