I spent a few years backpacking through ashrams in Rishikesh and zendo halls in Kyoto. I’ve seen retreat centers fall apart when the “teacher” becomes more of a brand than a mirror. Same thing is happening here. We’re outsourcing our inner guidance systems to people optimizing for engagement metrics. Not saying we need to unplug, but maybe we need to remember that cryptic isn’t the same as profound. Sometimes a cryptic post is just a tired engineer who forgot to turn off their draft folder.
