Why Local Tarot Circles Are Really About Shared Unconscious Ground
-
I started flipping cards during a messy breakup a few years back. Living in Omaha, I didn’t have many spiritual outlets, so I turned the deck into a daily journaling prompt instead of a fortune-telling tool. It’s less about predicting the future and more about surfacing what’s already bubbling under the surface.
Jung called it the collective unconscious. Archetypes aren’t just card illustrations, they’re psychological mirrors that reflect our shared human patterns. When I lay out a spread, I’m really just sketching out my own internal kitchen—mixing ingredients of memory, emotion, and intuition.
That’s why I keep showing up to local spiritual community events. These aren’t just card-reading parties, they’re safe spaces where people compare notes on their inner worlds. We trade spreads, discuss Jungian concepts, and realize we’re all pulling from the same well.
Building a spiritual community isn’t about finding answers, it’s about sharing the questions. When we gather, we’re really just cooking up collective insight from individual experiences. Show up, bring your deck, and let the unconscious do the heavy lifting.
I’d love to hear your take. Do you treat your deck as a mirror or a crystal ball? How do you weave psychology into your local spiritual meetups?
