reiki self healing feels real to some people, but I don't think there's solid proof it does anything beyond relaxation.
It's basically a calm-down ritual.
If it helps you feel better, fine, just don't skip real treatment.

I agree don't skip real treatment, but calling reiki "just a calm-down ritual" is a weird methodology—ritualized attention can genuinely shift the nervous system, and Jung would probably call it symbolic work, not noise.
