The High Priestess of Data: Guarding Your Inner Sanctuary

I’m 50, work as a restaurant manager here in Chattanooga, and I’ve been navigating that messy, often painful deconstruction phase after years in evangelical circles. Lately, I’ve been exploring metaphysics, tracking my moon rituals, meditation logs, and divination readings on various apps, but it really hit me: who actually owns this spiritual data?

Jung often wrote about the Shadow and how we project our inner worlds. When we upload our spiritual practices to the cloud, we’re essentially outsourcing our inner sanctuary. In the tarot, the High Priestess represents hidden knowledge and the boundary between the conscious and unconscious. She guards the veil. But modern spiritual tech tears that veil wide open, often mining our deepest reflections for algorithmic analysis or targeted advertising.

I used to believe everything was predestined, but now I’m learning that true spiritual growth requires sovereignty—much like the Emperor card, which stands for structure, control, and personal boundaries. I don’t want my moon phase tracking or deconstruction notes harvested. Spiritual data ownership isn’t just a tech issue; it’s a psychological boundary. If we let corporations hold the keys to our inner world, we lose the very autonomy needed to heal.

I’m currently trying to build a private, local system for my journaling and ritual tracking. How do you handle your spiritual data? Do you keep it completely offline, or do you trust cloud platforms? I’d love to hear your approaches and how you balance convenience with protecting your inner sanctuary.
