Hey everyone. I'm a 44-year-old plumber from Minneapolis. They/them. I'm currently deep in the process of deconstructing my evangelical past. It's a strange journey—unlearning what I was taught and trying to find a spiritual language that feels authentic, not dogmatic. Lately, I've been finding that language through tarot, meditation, and Jungian archetypes.

Let's be real: meditation for beginners is a struggle. How do you sit still when your mind is a chaotic construction site? I try to close my eyes, but thoughts about pipe fittings, the biting Minnesota wind, or fragments of old Sunday sermons just flood in. As a plumber, I'm used to fixing physical leaks; meditation is about fixing the leak of attention.

Here's what's working for me: I use tarot cards as anchors for my practice. Pulling The Hermit reminds me that solitude is a purposeful journey, not a punishment. Jung talks about the Shadow—that dark, hidden psychological stuff we usually suppress. Meditation is basically staring the Shadow in the eye without blinking. You acknowledge the mess, but you don't let it drive the bus.

My advice? Don't fight the noise. Treat thoughts like water pressure. Let them flow through you, but don't get swept away. It's InnerAlchemy. You're taking the lead of mental clutter and transmuting it into the gold of clarity. I've also been experimenting with CrystalEnergy—placing specific stones under my cushion—and timing my sessions with MoonRituals to see if lunar cycles help quiet the mind.

What's your experience? Do you find that aligning with lunar cycles helps? I'm genuinely curious how others handle the beginner slump. Are you also deconstructing old beliefs? Let's share the alchemy!
