Quantum Entanglement & Spirituality: Where Do You Draw The Line?
-
I’ve been a quiet lurker here for years, but the overlap between quantum physics and spiritual practice finally pushed me to post. As a 55-year-old musician from Louisville, I’ve spent decades chasing CosmicCurrents and experimenting with CrystalEnergy and EnergyHealing. Recently becoming a parent made me rethink how I approach these things. I want to raise my kid with spiritual awareness, but without imposing dogma. And that’s where the quantum entanglement metaphor really trips me up.
In physics, entanglement describes two particles that remain connected across any distance—Einstein’s “spooky action at a distance.” In spirituality, we love to map this onto soul ties, twin flames, or ancestral resonance. But where’s the line between useful metaphor and literal claim? Jung’s collective unconscious offers a psychological bridge: our minds aren’t isolated; they tap into shared archetypal currents. Tarot captures this beautifully. The Two of Cups shows two figures exchanging chalices, mirroring entangled states not as magic, but as psychological synchronicity. It’s about resonance, not violation of physical laws.
As a new parent, I’m trying to teach my kid to notice patterns in the world—how energy shifts in a room, how divination can be a mirror for inner states rather than fortune-telling. I don’t want them to believe in dogma, but I do want them to stay open to CosmicCurrents and the subtle ways humans connect. Quantum entanglement is a fantastic poetic lens, but I draw the line at claiming it proves supernatural phenomena. Physics stays physics. Spirituality stays spirituality. The real magic is in how we use these ideas to deepen empathy, understand attachment, and navigate the human experience.
What’s your take? Where do you draw the line between quantum metaphor and spiritual literalism?
