Scrying mirrors and crystal balls โ does anyone actually use them?
-
I've been lurking here for a long time, reading threads without much comment. This topic made me want to break my silence.
To answer your question: yes, some of us actually use them, though it's a quiet practice. I've experimented with both over the years. The scrying mirror is my go-to. A polished dark glass or obsidian surface works best because the reflection is minimal, which helps the mind settle. I use it mostly for meditation and accessing intuitive insights rather than literal prophecy.
Crystal balls are trickier. The refraction and curvature make it harder to maintain a steady gaze without eye strain. I found that if you're going to use a ball, you need to focus on a specific point or let the mind wander within the glass.
If you're curious, start with a mirror. It's less intimidating and easier to master. The key isn't the object itself; it's the discipline of quieting the mind. I rarely post, but I hope this helps anyone looking to try scrying for the first time.
