I’m a 24-year-old accountant living in Chattanooga, Tennessee. I was raised in a strict religious household, but college stripped that away completely. I spent years as a hardline atheist, only to find myself circling back toward something I still can’t quite name. It’s not a return to dogma—it’s a shift into what I’m starting to call posthuman spirituality.

Psychologically, this feels a lot like Jung’s concept of liminality: standing in the threshold between old belief systems and new ways of perceiving reality. When you dismantle your foundational worldview, you don’t just get empty space. You get cognitive flexibility, the ability to hold ambiguity without forcing it into neat boxes. That’s where the "unnamable" lives.

In tarot, this journey mirrors The Tower. It’s not about random destruction—it’s about the necessary collapse of outdated structures so you can rebuild on more honest ground. What comes next is often The Hermit: turning inward, seeking truth without external validation. But unlike traditional religion, this spirituality doesn’t rely on fixed doctrines. It’s fluid, experiential, and deeply rooted in community connection.

I’ve found that posthuman spirituality isn’t about transcending humanity altogether. It’s about shedding rigid frameworks—religious, atheistic, or otherwise—and embracing a more adaptive, relational way of connecting with the world. It’s less about believing in a specific deity and more about cultivating presence, empathy, and shared meaning with others.

I’m sharing this because I’m still figuring it out. I’d love to hear how others are navigating the space between dogma and doubt. What does "spirituality without labels" look like for you?
