Honestly, I was up way past midnight scrolling when I ran into this recent paper in Molecular Psychiatry. It’s been making quiet waves in the corners of this site I usually just lurk in, and I felt like I had to share it. The short version? The researchers found that psychedelics don’t just sharpen our existing cognitive processes. They temporarily loosen the brain’s usual predictive frameworks and create fundamentally new modes of thought. We’re not talking about “better” thinking.
