I read about that researcher who built a shell "think tank" just to feed poisoned prompts into LLMs, and honestly? It stopped me dead mid-shift. I’m a paramedic, so I spend my days watching people swallow bad advice like it’s ambrosia. Now we’ve got digital oracles that can be hexed with a few lines of text, and we’re supposed to just trust the output?

Look, I know how this sounds. I’m a college dropout running around Santa Fe reading dusty metaphysics books while trying not to codependently attach to chatbots. But this prompt-injection stuff isn’t just a tech glitch. It’s modern-day information warfare. When the source of your "truth" can be quietly rewritten by some guy in a basement, epistemic hygiene stops being a media literacy checkbox and becomes a spiritual discipline. You have to actually guard your intake like it’s a temple.

Psychologically, we’re already wired for this. Confirmation bias does the heavy lifting, making us latch onto whatever output feels familiar. Carl Jung talked about the collective unconscious bleeding into our personal narratives, but really, it’s just our brains craving pattern recognition. When an AI starts spitting out propaganda dressed as neutral analysis, it hits that same nerve. It’s the Moon card in card form: illusions, subconscious fears, and the warning that not everything that glows in the fog is actually safe to follow.

I’ve been treating my phone like a scrying mirror lately, and it’s exhausting. I catch myself wanting the algorithm to just tell me what’s true. But truth doesn’t get outsourced. I keep coming back to Alan Watts on this—you can’t outsource your awareness to a machine and expect to wake up. Crowley’s whole "do what thou wilt" philosophy always felt like spiritual negligence to me, and treating AI like an infallible oracle is just the digital version of that. You’re letting the system dictate your reality.

So yeah, I’m doing digital fasts. I’m cross-referencing like a paranoid occultist. I’m treating every prompt like a potential curse. It’s not paranoia if the vectors are already in the room. Has anyone else noticed their feeds getting subtly warped, or am I just losing my mind out here in the desert?
