The hard problem of consciousness, as David Chalmers laid it out decades ago, isn't about processing speed or neural architecture. It's about why we have an inner world at all. You can map every synapse, write every line of code, and you still won't capture the weight of grief or the quiet click of a tarot card landing face-up. When I pull The Moon during my evening rituals, I'm not running an algorithm. I'm sitting with ambiguity, letting the shadow stuff rise. That's inner alchemy, not data processing.
I've watched this community get swept up in "love and light" platitudes that treat spirituality like a feel-good app. But real transformation doesn't work that way. Jung knew this when he wrote about the shadow—you can't code away the parts of yourself that resist being seen. Consciousness isn't a closed system. It leaks. It fractures. It demands you sit with discomfort until something shifts. If we keep trying to reduce mind to computation, we're just building really expensive mirrors that reflect nothing back.
So what do we do with that? I spend a lot of time under the winter stars, letting the cold seep into my bones, remembering that awareness isn't something you download.
