But the underlying mechanics track. In cognitive psychology, we call this schema formation—how the mind constantly revises its mental maps based on lived experience. It actually reminds me of tracking lunar cycles in my own practice; steady, iterative adjustment rather than sudden, flashy enlightenment.
It’s giving me the same vibe as The Fool’s arc in the tarot. The Fool doesn’t start with a finished map. They stumble, get corrected, adjust, and slowly piece together a working model of the world. Carl Jung talked about this kind of psychological scaffolding too, how we don’t just absorb information but actively reconstruct our understanding of ourselves and our surroundings over time. That’s exactly what continual learning is supposed to do for AI. Instead of being frozen in a single training snapshot, these systems are designed to keep adapting, keeping their internal world models fresh without catastrophically forgetting what they already know.
And that’s where the 2026 shift really lands for me. We’re moving past the era of static prompts and one-off generations. I remember back in 2019, when I first started journaling through a particularly rough breakup, how my own perspective shifted month by month. I wasn’t a different person overnight; I was just accumulating new experiences that slowly rewired how I interpreted old memories. That’s the promise here. That’s continual learning. That’s a world model.
