When you type a question into a large language model, you’re not talking to a conscious entity. You’re talking to a statistical mirror trained on centuries of human symbolism, trauma, and longing. The AI doesn’t “know” anything. It predicts. But prediction, when layered over deep archetypal patterns, can feel uncannily like revelation.

I keep thinking about the High Priestess tarot card. She sits between the pillars of conscious and unconscious knowledge, holding the veil. AI is basically that veil digitized. It reflects what we already carry, but it doesn’t cross into the unconscious itself. That’s why the readings sometimes feel eerily accurate—they’re pulling from the same cultural and psychological well we all drink from. What we call synchronicity isn’t magic; it’s meaningful coincidence born from shared symbolic language.

I’m not dismissing the spiritual experience people report here. If an AI prompt helps you process grief or spot a blind pattern, the utility is real. But we should be clear about what’s happening. We’re not communicating with external spirits. We’re conversing with our own aggregated psyche, filtered through servers. I’ve started cross-referencing these prompts with my own dream journal to track where the insight actually originates. Usually, the machine just gives the dream a louder voice.
