I kept rewinding that video of the Greenland iceberg flipping over. You know the one—the sheer mass just tumbling, water churning, the whole formation shaking like a magnitude 5 quake. It didn’t feel like a documentary. It felt like a warning shot. Honestly, living up here in Madison where Lake Mendota breaks up early every year, I’m used to seasonal shifts. But that footage bypassed my prefrontal cortex entirely. I’ve been doing climate meditations for years, usually sitting with my eyes closed, visualizing healing energy flowing back into the earth. After watching that, my usual scripts just fell apart. How do you visualize “healing” when the planet is literally rearranging itself in real time?

As a therapist in training, I’m taught to help clients process anxiety by grounding it in the present. But that video hit my nervous system raw. I keep thinking about Carl Jung’s theory of the collective unconscious—how certain archetypal images crack open when the cultural mood shifts. That collapsing ice feels like a raw, unfiltered symbol of the Tower card in the tarot. Sudden, violent, irreversible. Not a slow decline, but a structural failure. I’m not saying the world is ending tomorrow, but the symbolism lands differently now. It’s harder to spiritual bypass when the imagery is this visceral.

I’ve been leaning into CrystalEnergy more lately, mostly working with hematite and smoky quartz for grounding, but even that feels like a drop in the ocean. And I’ll be honest—I’m pretty cautious about the whole “just take psychedelics and you’ll magically reconnect with nature” trend. Trips can be beautiful, but they don’t replace the slow, unglamorous work of sitting with ecological grief. Real-time footage like that doesn’t ask for a quick fix. It asks for presence.

I’m curious how others are processing this. Have you noticed your rituals or meditations shifting after watching something this raw? Do you find that concrete, visual evidence makes spiritual practice feel more urgent, or does it just deepen the dread? I’d love to hear what’s actually working for you when the abstract becomes this undeniably real.
