I’ve been reading a lot lately about how governments initially dumped billions into quantum computing, only to watch AI swallow the headlines and the grant money. Honestly, it makes me a little frustrated. We’re treating them like rival sports teams when they might just be two different dialects describing the exact same phenomenon. And I don’t mean the raw processing power. I mean the quiet, stubborn mystery of consciousness itself.

Look, I’m a teacher and a stay-at-home parent in Louisville, not a physicist. My real lab is a drafty community center room where I lead a small weekly breathwork group to help folks unspool the stress of modern life. But when you spend hours watching people shift their nervous systems, or when you sit with a deck and notice how the High Priestess always shows up when we’re trying to force rigid logic onto something that’s fundamentally intuitive, patterns start to line up.

I keep coming back to Carl Jung and his take on projection. We tend to dump our own unresolved questions about awareness, free will, and the nature of mind onto whatever shiny new tool we’re holding. Quantum computing leans heavily on superposition and entanglement—states that feel uncomfortably close to what mystics have called non-local awareness for centuries. Meanwhile, AI is basically a mirror reflecting our own cognitive biases and linguistic patterns back at us, sometimes with unsettling accuracy. Are we funding two separate revolutions, or are we just paying twice to peek behind the same veil?

From what I’ve gathered, quantum researchers are still wrestling with the measurement problem. How does observation collapse a probability wave into a definite state? And AI developers are stuck on the "black box" issue, trying to figure out how neural networks actually "understand" instead of just statistically predicting. It feels like we’re circling the same tree from opposite directions.

I’m not claiming to have the answers. My experience with breathwork and energy healing just suggests that awareness isn’t as localized as our hardware assumes. But I’d love to hear how you all are tracking this. When you look at the funding shift, do you see a genuine split in methodology, or just the usual tech-industry fickleness? And if consciousness does turn out to be non-local, how does that change the way we approach our own inner work? I’m genuinely curious where this is heading.
