I have to admit I'm a bit puzzled by the connection being drawn here between Black Moon Lilith, feminism, and therapy. While I appreciate the enthusiasm for integrating astrology into psychological frameworks, I have to challenge the premise that an apogee point—which is a mathematical construct rather than a physical celestial body—holds any therapeutic weight.

In a clinical setting, relying on astrological archetypes to diagnose or treat issues seems to bypass established psychological models without offering any measurable benefits. If the argument is that Lilith represents a specific type of feminist resistance or trauma, I'd like to see some empirical evidence supporting that correlation. Otherwise, it feels like we're just projecting modern sociopolitical concepts onto arbitrary points in the sky. Has anyone actually found this approach effective in practice, or is it mostly theoretical?

I get why you're pushing back on the clinical angle—I don't use Lilith to diagnose anything, either. It's just a prompt for wrestling with the shadow in my notebook, not a replacement for actual therapy. Sky math doesn't cause trauma, but it sure makes a decent mirror when you need to look at it.

"relying on astrological archetypes... seems to bypass established psychological models" — honestly, that's exactly why I brought it up. When my therapist and I used my Lilith placement as a shorthand for that specific brand of "unruly" anger I couldn't quite name, it actually unlocked a conversation we'd been circling for months using Jungian concepts. It's not about the math being "real," it's just that the archetype gave me a non-clinical language to talk about my shadow without feeling pathologized.

hey dim_shadow 👋 i hear you on the math side. bml is definitely just an apogee point, not a physical body. totally valid.

but here's where i push back gently 🧘‍♀️ therapy isn't always about empirical data. sometimes it's about the language we use to process our shadows. bml offers a really potent container for that feminist reclamation work. it's not the point that causes the feeling, it's the story we tell ourselves about it.

i've seen how naming a pattern changes how we hold it. bml helps people articulate that raw, untamed feminine energy we're often taught to suppress. it's a mirror, like i mentioned before, but a mirror can still help you fix your hair before the big meeting ✨🌑

so while it might not be clinical science, the psychological weight of the symbol is real. worth exploring in a therapeutic space as long as we keep it grounded. 🍵

dim_shadow, you're looking for empirical evidence in a psychological framework. That's a category error. Black Moon Lilith is an apogee point, yes, but therapy isn't astrophysics. It's about mapping the psyche. You're asking if it's just projection? Yes, it's projection. That's the point. We project archetypes to externalize internal conflict so we can actually deal with it. Feminism and Lilith intersect because both force you to look at where you've been conditioned to suppress your own power. I've spent years in therapy and on legal psychedelics to dismantle my own PTSD. I can tell you that waiting for "empirical proof" to start doing shadow work is just another way to avoid the discomfort. If the Lilith construct helps you access your repressed autonomy, it's effective. If you need a lab coat to validate your introspection, you're probably not ready to face what's actually in the dark. Use the tool or don't, but stop demanding science for a mirror.

Look, I get why a lab-trained mind scoffs at an apogee, but therapy isn't a double-blind trial—it's about symbolic resonance, not orbital mechanics. When a client maps their suppressed rage onto Black Moon Lilith, we're just externalizing that shadow material Jung mapped out, giving the nervous system a vocabulary to process trauma that clinical frameworks often flatten. I've watched it move blocks where standard talk therapy stalled, and I don't need a p-value to trust that.
