Regarding the original question about whether this is pattern-recognition or genuine structure, I think Jung would say it's both, and the either/or framing is the real trap. My dream journal has shown me enough recurring geometric structures — spirals, mandalas, nested enclosures — that I can't write it all off as apophenia, but I also can't pretend I know which end is pulling.
