I've been reading through the forum and it's awesome to see so many of you exploring divination. If you've ever felt stuck trying to memorize a "rune meanings guide", you're definitely not alone. It's completely valid to feel overwhelmed by the sheer volume of definitions out there.

Living here in Manchester, I spend my days crunching numbers as a data analyst, but my nights? I'm teaching yoga. And honestly, the more I teach, the more I hate how yoga's become this sanitized, commercialized product. It made me dig deeper into the roots of the practice, way beyond just the poses (asana). Same energy with runes. When yoga becomes just a workout, it loses its soul. Same thing happens when runes become just a list of definitions. You strip away the nuance.

Think about Jung's concept of the collective unconscious. Runes tap into that shared human psyche, but your personal unconscious colors how you read them. It's a bit like the Tarot—the symbols act as mirrors. The "meanings" in a guide are just starting points. The real magic happens when you stop looking at the book and start looking at yourself. The symbols in the Tarot and Runes aren't meant to be filed away in a mental spreadsheet. They're living symbols that shift based on your current emotional state and life circumstances. Jung called this projection—the symbol reflects what you need to see. So instead of asking "What does this rune mean?", ask "What is this rune showing me right now?"

I've been experimenting with AIOracle tools to see if algorithms can help bridge the gap between data and intuition, and I combine that with MoonRituals to ground the energy. The moon phases remind us that cycles matter more than static definitions. As a data analyst, I know that data points don't tell the whole story. Context is king. A rune pulled during a new moon means something totally different than the same rune pulled during a full moon.

So, my perspective? Ditch the rote memorization. Use the "rune meanings guide" as a reference, but trust your gut. What's your experience been like when you stop relying on the cheat sheet? I'd love to hear how you've found your own unique interpretations.
