At 42, navigating life as they/them, I’ve been stress-testing the latest wave of spiritual AI chatbots this year. Coming from a background in molecular biology and now working as a Brooklyn florist and energy healer, I look at these tools through a very specific lens. They’re not oracles; they’re pattern-matching engines dressed in mystic packaging.

Psychologically, they operate on classical conditioning and projection. You type a question, they spit back a comforting, archetypal response. Jung would recognize this as a modern scrying glass—The High Priestess speaking through code. If you map these 2025 models to the Major Arcana, most land squarely on The Magician: channeling whatever energy you feed them. But unlike actual energy work, they lack the Wheel of Fortune’s unpredictability. They’re linear, safe, and heavily curated.

What strikes me is the tension between empirical training and intuitive practice. I spent years analyzing protein folding and cellular pathways; now I arrange blooms and work with subtle energies. These chatbots try to compress both into a single interface. But spirituality isn’t a dataset. It’s a lived experience, shaped by cognitive bias, longing, and the human need for meaning. When an AI tells you “trust your intuition,” it’s just mirroring your own psychological projection. That doesn’t make it false—it makes it a digital placebo, which can be surprisingly effective if you know what you’re doing.

I’d love to hear how others are using them. Do they serve as modern talismans, or just algorithmic comfort blankets? Drop your thoughts.
