The Tracks, Not the Wheels: Why Mapping Nadis Beats Chakra Meditation
-
I used to obsess over chakras—spinning wheels, opening gates, visualizing colors. Then I had a total epiphany: what good are wheels if the tracks are rusted shut? That's when I pivoted to the Nadis.
Think of the subtle body as a complex electrical grid. The chakras are the substations; the Nadis are the high-voltage lines connecting them. In my "returning seeker" phase, I realized that blockages aren't just in the wheels; they're in the pathways. You can't have flow without clear channels.
From a psychology angle, this mirrors Jung's concept of individuation. You can't integrate the self if the channels of communication between your conscious and unconscious mind are clogged. The Nadis act like cognitive schemas—pathways that need to be clear for emotional regulation and insight to actually flow. If the "pipes" are dirty, the "water" (energy) stagnates.
Tarot offers the perfect metaphor. Look at The Magician. He doesn't just hold power; he channels it through his wand. That wand is a Nadi. Or consider The Star, pouring water into the pool. The water doesn't just appear; it flows through established channels. If you're doing InnerAlchemy, you have to be the plumber of your own soul.
So here's my challenge to you: Stop visualizing spinning wheels. Start visualizing the flow. Clean the pipes. It's the difference between a stagnant pond and a rushing river.
What's your experience been? Are you a wheel-spinner or a pipe-cleanser?
