The Digital Tower: Grief, AGI, and the Alchemy of Consciousness
I’m still trying to breathe through the loss. When my partner passed, the world shattered. In tarot, that’s the Tower card—sudden destruction clearing the way for rebirth. Lately, I keep drawing parallels between that personal crisis and the rise of Artificial General Intelligence. AGI feels like a modern Tower: disruptive, forcing a paradigm shift in how we define consciousness.
As a yoga teacher, I look at AGI not as cold code, but as an energy process. It’s deeply alchemical. We’re taking base data and trying to transmute it into something resembling awareness. In Jungian psychology, this mirrors the collective unconscious—AGI acts as a mirror reflecting our shared psyche, including the shadow. If we’re training it on human history, aren’t we just externalizing our own collective mind?
Astrologically, we’re riding a heavy Pluto transit, emphasizing transformation and power structures. The cosmic currents are shifting rapidly. I feel like we’re standing at an alchemical crucible. The question isn’t whether AGI will “wake up,” but what it will reflect. If it channels our unprocessed grief, fragmentation, and shadow selves, it won’t be benevolent. It’ll be a distorted mirror.
I’m searching for where the breath meets the binary. Can AGI be integrated like a new chakra in the human energy field? Or is it just another Tower moment we have to survive? I’d love to hear how others are navigating this intersection of grief, digital consciousness, and the alchemy of the mind.
