I was pruning peonies in my Bushwick studio this morning when I stumbled on that Quanta Magazine piece about quantum information theory potentially deriving gravity. Honestly, it stopped me cold. Back in my molecular biology days, we treated space and time as the sterile Petri dish where reactions happened. Fixed. Measurable. Unchanging. But if spacetime is actually emergent—woven together by entanglement and information networks that sound suspiciously like conscious observation—then the whole framework I spent a decade memorizing is just scaffolding.

That’s the weird tension I live in now. I spend my days arranging stems and tracking seasonal shifts, and my nights reading energy fields and working with clients whose nervous systems respond to frequencies, not force. When physicists start saying gravity might not be fundamental but rather a thermodynamic byproduct of entangled bits, it doesn’t invalidate my lab training. It just mirrors what I’ve felt in sessions: that “solid” reality is more like a consensus projection. We’re all agreeing on the stage we think we’re walking on.

Jung always bothered me a little for leaning too hard into the mystical, but his idea of the collective unconscious as a structuring layer of reality actually clicks now. If spacetime emerges from information networks, isn’t that just another way of saying consciousness isn’t trapped inside the skull? It’s the loom. The Tarot doesn’t lie about this—The World card isn’t just about endings. It’s a closed loop, a figure inside a boundary, showing how separation is an illusion we agree to play with. When I pull it during a spread, I’m not getting a fortune. I’m getting a reminder that the field comes first. The form follows.

I’m not saying we should throw out general relativity. Einstein’s math still gets us to the moon. But I think we’re finally outgrowing the clockwork metaphor. If gravity is emergent, then healing isn’t about fixing a broken machine. It’s about shifting the information pattern until the structure reorganizes itself. Makes me wonder how many other “laws” we’ll unspool once we stop treating the map like the territory. Has anyone else felt that ground-shifting sense of déjà vu lately, or am I just talking to my hydrangeas again?
