Hey everyone, long-time lurker here. I’ve been meditating for over a decade now, mostly just to keep my head above water while working night shifts as a nurse in Chattanooga. But lately, I’ve been obsessed with this question: when people describe those sudden, jaw-dropping moments of transcendence—whether it’s during deep meditation, a moon ritual, or just a random Tuesday—what does it actually feel like? I spend way too much time on LoveAndAstrology threads and moon ritual guides, but I get so tired of people treating these moments like cosmic lottery tickets. I’m not talking about the woo-woo fluff. I mean the raw, unfiltered sensation. Did time dissolve? Did you feel like you were dissolving into the cosmos? Or was it just a profound sense of peace?

I’ve read about what researchers call transient hypofrontality, where the default mode network quiets down during peak states. But knowing the mechanics doesn’t strip the mystery away for me. It’s kind of like looking at The World tarot card—you can analyze the astrological correspondences and the psychological symbolism of completion, but that doesn’t stop it from hitting you in the chest when it shows up in a spread. Same with mysticism. The neurochemistry is real, but so is the experience. Or maybe they’re just two sides of the same coin.

I’d love to hear your actual, grounded accounts. No need to over-explain or justify it with ancient texts. Just tell me: what happened? What was the physical sensation? Did you feel fear, euphoria, or just… quiet? I’m trying to piece together whether these moments are purely biological events, spiritual breakthroughs, or some messy overlap of both. If you’ve ever had a glimpse of something that felt bigger than yourself, I’m all ears. What did it cost you? What did it change? And honestly, how do you integrate something like that back into the grind of daily life without losing your mind? Thanks for sharing, even if it’s just a few sentences. I’m genuinely curious.
