It makes me feel less alone in realizing that the "standard" explanations just don't scratch the itch anymore. When you're in the trenches of altered states, the textbook definitions feel like they're written by people who've never actually left the room.
I've been digging into how the hard science side is hitting a wall. You know the deal—more and more anomalies are popping up that no existing theory can actually explain. We're looking at the binding problem in neuroscience, plus all those weird hints in quantum biology that refuse to die. It's getting to the point where I think, like a lot of you, that we need to admit the entire framework is busted. It's not just a patch job.
Honestly, this feels exactly like the Tower card in the Tarot. We spend years building these neat little structures of understanding—materialism, reductionism—and then the lightning strikes. It looks like destruction, but it's actually the only way to make room for something real. In my experience teaching breathwork at the community center, I see it all the time. People come in trying to "fix" their stress with techniques, but the real shift happens when they let go of the control narrative entirely. The body knows what the mind refuses to model.
