I’ve been reading through this thread and I really appreciate how thoughtfully you all are sitting with this question. It’s such a grounded, open space to explore, and I’m genuinely glad we’re having this conversation. If that recent research on endogenous DMT holds up, we might finally be looking at a biological map for experiences we’ve spent centuries trying to mystify. I don’t claim to have all the answers, but it’s really shifting how I look at my own practice.

As a draftsman and musician, I spend half my life mapping structures—architectural lines, chord progressions, the geometry of sound. Because I experience synesthesia, I don’t just hear music; I see it. A sustained cello note will bleed into deep indigo, and sometimes a single harmonic will trigger a visual cascade that feels completely separate from my waking logic. I’ve had moments during deep sleep, or even in those sudden, breath-catching flashes of déjà vu while walking down Church Street, where time just folds on itself. It’s not woo to me. It’s just the nervous system doing what it does. If DMT is actually being synthesized endogenously during those windows, it would beautifully explain why our dreams feel so cinematically real, or why certain meditative states mirror classic psychedelic reports without any external substances.

I’m pretty skeptical of a lot of the “healing frequency” claims I see floating around—especially when they promise instant breakthroughs from a specific Hz tone or a perfectly aligned quartz grid. But this endogenous angle? It feels honest. Carl Jung always talked about the collective unconscious and archetypes surfacing when the ego loosens its grip. I think endogenous DMT might just be the biochemical mechanism for that drop. It’s like pulling The Moon card from a spread: murky, deeply symbolic, entirely intuitive, but generated from within. We don’t need to import the magic. We just need to stop fighting the natural chemistry that’s already trying to speak.

I’ve been leaning into CrystalEnergy and even testing the AIOracle lately, mostly to see how external prompts interact with those internal states. But if the brain is its own pharmacy, maybe the real alchemy is just learning how to listen without overcomplicating it. What’s your take? Do your dreams or sudden “aha” moments line up with this, or does it feel too reductionist to you?
