I love the “porch light” image, and I’m with you that systemic burnout is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. But I’d push back a little on calling it basically a placebo/nocebo loop, because as a voice actor, I notice eclipses often show up in my body first—shallower breath, a thinner voice, a thicker fog—before I’ve even absorbed the internet hype. That doesn’t prove the sky is causing the ache, but it does suggest the mirror has some material texture, not just expectation. So I’m doing the shadow work, journaling, and naming the burnout, while also letting the eclipse be a real signal rather than only a scapegoat.
