I got the Death card, and I kept saying it’s not the end.

It’s compost.

It’s the part of the cycle where rot feeds growth.

I’m a construction worker, so I know what happens when you pour concrete over something that’s still settling.

It cracks.

Tarot feels the same when you treat Samhain like a personal mood ring instead of a threshold.

The cards don’t care if you’re “manifesting” a nicer life while ignoring the people sleeping in the same town.

I pulled the Hanged Man and said, this is the season where the ego has to stop pretending it’s in charge.

Jung talked about the shadow as the stuff we refuse to look at, and that’s exactly what a good Halloween spread does: it puts the ugly, inconvenient, ancestral junk on the table.

Not as decoration.

As work.

I don’t like tarot readings that turn into “you’re just meant to be a healer” energy when the real issue is rent, labor, and community.

Spiritual bypassing is easy when the cards are pretty.

The Moon card showed up too, and I used it to talk about dreams, intuition, and the parts of us that don’t make sense by daylight.

That’s where DreamSanctum matters to me.

Not because dreams are magic in a neat little package, but because they can carry grief, anger, and collective memory that waking life tries to file away.

If you’re doing a Samhain spread, I’d ask it to show me what the community is carrying, not just what I’m scared of.

What card would you trust to speak for the dead, the neglected, and the people we pretend aren’t part of the story?
