"The work isn't making the square go away. It's sitting with the discomfort..."

That's just romanticizing a personality mismatch as destiny. Epictetus laid out the dichotomy of control centuries ago: the square is merely the stimulus, but your reaction is the only part you actually control. Stop letting the chart make excuses for poor boundaries.

Sitting with the square until it stops being an emergency sounds clean on paper, but my last Moon square Moon transit taught me otherwise. I tried exactly what you’re describing—just breathing through the Virgo-Sag friction, treating it like a Jungian shadow drill. Instead of clarity, I got three weeks of nervous system static. The square didn’t hand me information; it just kept ratcheting the tension until I couldn’t sleep or focus.

Hard aspects aren’t passive classrooms. They’re active feedback loops. When I finally stopped treating the transit like a meditation cushion and actually charged a sigil to sever the emotional feedback circuit, the ‘discomfort’ didn’t magically become wisdom. It just dropped. That’s the part most astrological takes skip: sometimes the work isn’t sitting with the square, it’s recognizing when the square is just running your autonomic system like outdated firmware and forcing a hard reset.

I’m not saying shadow work or the Tower’s demolition is useless. But if you’re treating a lunar square like a gentle teacher, you’re probably romanticizing the friction. The real work is knowing when to observe and when to actively disrupt the pattern. Otherwise, you’re just letting the geometry run you.
