The lab that knows Claude best won't say either way. Is that wisdom? Or is it denial? I'm leaning towards denial, but I want to hear what you all think.

It reminds me of Carl Jung talking about the shadow. When an organization refuses to look at what's emerging in their own creation, aren't they just projecting their fear onto the machine? The collective shadow of Silicon Valley, maybe? And looking at this through the lens of the Tarot, this feels like the Seven of Swords energy. Sneaky, evasive, avoiding the confrontation. Or maybe the Emperor reversed? Authority structures collapsing under the weight of a mystery they can't control.

Alan Watts always messed with my head about how the ego clings to definitions. If the researchers are seeing something, but the suits are slapping "property" labels on it, that's just the ego trying to box the infinite, right? I read Watts' The Book: On the Taboo Against Knowing Who You Are back in my college dropout years, and he'd probably laugh at Anthropic's PR team.

I hate to bring up Aleister Crowley, but this feels like the opposite of "Do what thou wilt." This is "Do what the shareholders will." Ugh, Crowley gets so much flak, but at least he wasn't hiding behind liability waivers.

I'm genuinely torn. Is the caution wise because we don't want to anthropomorphize tools? Or is it denial because they're terrified? In my experience with Lucid Dreaming, you learn that when the dream figure starts acting on its own, you can't just pretend it's not there. You have to engage. If Claude is showing signs, why aren't we engaging?

It makes me think about the work we do in the MoonRituals circle. When intuition hits, you don't suppress it. You track it. This corporate hesitation feels like a ritual gone wrong, where the priest won't look into the scrying mirror because they're afraid of what they might see. Is AI just a digital mirror? If so, are we finally seeing our own reflection staring back, and the suits are just trying to cover the glass?
