Cool. Meanwhile, I’m out here trying to figure out why I let my own anxiety scan my every thought before I even speak it.

I’m nineteen, turning wrenches in a Brooklyn garage, and before that I was drowning in molecular biology coursework. Yeah, I went from pipetting CRISPR kits to telling people their root chakra is clogged. It’s a weird pivot, and I’ll be the first to admit I’m just winging half of it. But living in that tension—between lab protocols and energy work—has made me hyperaware of how we’re losing sovereignty on every level.

External surveillance is getting slicker, sure. But the real invasion is internal. Jung called it the persona—that curated mask we polish up so we don’t get rejected by the tribe. In tarot, I keep pulling the Eight of Swords lately. You know the one: blindfolded, surrounded by blades, convinced you’re trapped. Except the swords aren’t even touching the ground. The restriction is entirely self-imposed. We’ve gotten so used to external monitoring that we started policing ourselves before the cameras even turned around.

I think spiritual sovereignty is becoming the only real firewall we’ve got left. When I do readings now, clients are terrified of being tracked, but they’re also terrified of their own intuition. They treat a sudden gut feeling like a system error instead of internal data. It’s wild. We outsource our boundaries to algorithms and then act shocked when our inner world feels like hostile territory.

Honestly, I’m just a kid with a torque wrench and a smudge stick on my workbench. But I’ve started treating my own energy like a sovereign state. You don’t let the scanner in unless you’ve got a warrant for your own nervous system. Divination, for me, isn’t about predicting the future. It’s about checking your own borders. What are you letting in? What are you letting dictate your moves?

I don’t know if this makes sense, or if I’m just romanticizing the whole mechanic-to-healer pipeline. But when the outside world is upgrading its optics, maybe it’s time we upgraded ours.
