I only really started looking into inner work about a year ago after a really rough stretch at work. I’m a data analyst by trade, so I’m wired to want hard evidence, but I’ve been reading enough to see that the body’s intelligence operates on a level traditional science is only just mapping. I think this astrocyte research is kind of like what Carl Jung was pointing at with the unconscious mind. We spent so long staring at the conscious, logical output (the neurons) that we completely ignored the background processes actually shaping the data.

In tarot, this feels like a perfect mirror for The High Priestess. She’s all about the hidden currents, the intuition that operates beneath the rational surface, the quiet intelligence that doesn’t announce itself but absolutely runs the show. When healers and energy workers talk about “body wisdom” or cellular memory, science used to just brush it off. But if glial cells are really orchestrating neural communication, then that “mystical” sensation of the body knowing things before the mind catches up? It’s not magic. It’s just biology we hadn’t bothered to measure yet.

I’m definitely still a beginner at all this, and I don’t pretend to have it figured out. But I’ve been loving Norman Doidge’s The Brain That Changes Itself lately. It bridges that gap between hard neuroplasticity and the kind of self-work we do here. Anyway, just throwing this out there for the night owls and the skeptics alike.
