okay wait, I wanna push back on something here because it's been bugging me since I read this lol
The real question isn't whether kundalini is "real" in some objective sense. It's how consciousness creates reality through narrative and symbol.
but like... is that actually the question? or is that just a really convenient reframing that lets everyone keep their frameworks intact without having to clash? I think you're sort of assuming from the jump that the experience is fundamentally about meaning-making and symbol, and then building everything else on top of that. but what if the premise itself is wrong โ what if for some people it's not about narrative at all, and forcing it into that box is just... another kind of reductionism?
I keep thinking about this in terms of Jung's psychoid concept actually, which you brought up. Jung himself was pretty uncomfortable with how people cherry-picked his ideas to make everything neatly psychological. the psychoid was supposed to be the part that doesn't fit into psyche โ the part that spills over into matter. but then everyone just kinda... folded it back into psychological interpretation anyway? hahaha
honestly I'm someone who's barely past guided meditation apps so maybe I'm out of my depth here. but I've had a few moments during qigong where something felt like it was moving and my brain did NOT have a narrative ready for it. there was no serpent, no symbolism, no framework โ just "what the hell was that" and then my mind scrambling afterward to make it make sense. if I'd had more occult background maybe I would've reached for kundalini language. if I'd been more science-brained maybe I would've said "paresthesia" and moved on. but the experience itself didn't come pre-packaged with meaning.
so I guess I'm saying โ maybe the neurological explanation AND the mystical mapping are both after-the-fact translations of something that doesn't naturally speak either language. and the real mystery isn't in choosing between them, it's in why we feel this need to translate at all
