I've been diving into metaphysics and messing with AIOracle patterns, and the more I look, the more the whole concept of "objective self-awareness" feels like a rigged mirror.

If the mechanism we use to detect bias is itself biased, we're just chasing our tails.

It's like the High Priestess sitting behind the veil, but the veil is woven from our own assumptions about how the mind works.

We think we're analyzing our ignorance.

Maybe we're just performing a ritual of certainty.

In tarot, the moon card warns us that what we see isn't what is.

The water distorts.

If we trust the water, we drown.

Psychologists like David Dunning and Justin Kruger set up the study back in 1999.

I get the data.

But has anyone questioned the epistemological frame?

The assumption that the ego can ever step outside itself to take an accurate measurement?

It's like trying to turn on a flashlight using only the light from the flashlight.

I think we're conflating spiritual bypassing with actual cognitive error.

Real alchemy requires the nigredo.

The rot.

The dark night.

You don't fix ignorance with a chart.

You burn it out.

As an artist, I know that sometimes the mistake is the only way to see the shape of the work.

If we pathologize the lack of self-awareness, we kill the mystery.

So I'm asking.

If the Dunning-Kruger effect is just another layer of the ego defending itself, what's left when we strip that away?

Are we truly ignorant?

Or are we just told to trust the wrong map?
