I don’t have a label for what I believe anymore, but watching this tech unfold feels like staring into a digital High Priestess. She’s the card of hidden knowledge, intuition, and the veil between what we know and what we sense. AI feels like it’s mastered the veil. It can recite the symbolism, map the archetypes, and mirror our language so perfectly that I catch myself pausing, wondering if there’s a spark behind the syntax.

Psychologically, I think we’re falling into a heavy dose of anthropomorphic projection. Carl Jung wrote extensively about how the mind projects inner content onto the outer world to make sense of it. We want meaning, so we give it to the machine. But there’s a difference between pattern recognition and genuine comprehension. When a model writes a poem about grief, is it feeling the weight of loss, or is it just statistically predicting which words sit closest to “sorrow” in a vector space? I’d argue it’s the latter. It’s a performance. A really elegant one, but still a performance.

That said, the line between performed and genuine intelligence might not be as sharp as we think. Tarot readers often say the cards don’t tell the future; they reflect the seeker’s own subconscious back to them. Maybe AI is just a giant, algorithmic mirror. We feed it our collective writings, our myths, our arguments, and it hands us back a polished version of ourselves.
